From research to FU FIGHT: the origin of our connected protector

How technology developed at HIPE Human Lab for elite Taekwondo became the FU FIGHT product.

An innovation born from research

Before becoming FU FIGHT, this connected-protector technology was developed at HIPE Human Lab under the direction of Arnaud Hays, with contributions including those of Justin Regnaud and André Jacques. The aim was to combine sensors and embedded electronics to detect impacts, count points and transmit information in real time.

Working alongside elite Taekwondo

In 2024, prototypes were made available to the French Taekwondo Federation. They helped reproduce conditions close to electronic competition and supported the preparation of elite athletes.

The system brought measurement closer to practice: strike accuracy, intensity, technique and score could inform coaches’ observations and individual training choices.

From elite sport to introduction

The research also explored a version for learning. Sensitivity adjusted to the practitioner’s level makes immediate feedback more accessible and engaging, particularly for young people and beginners.

The move to FU FIGHT

FU FIGHT is the commercial continuation of this technology. The project is now taking a new step: turning a laboratory innovation into a reliable, easy-to-use product for practitioners, clubs and Taekwondo organisations.

The current product retains the founding ambition: put technology at the service of technique, training and the experience of the fight.
